Angels Among Us

  •

  • On 9/11 did you notice that few people were found?  Memorials were held rather than funerals?  Over 3,000 people were lost that day and yet it is as if they had individual guardian angels to take them home.  Taken home whole - taken home in time to spare them the experience that was sure to follow.  As has been mentioned - Maybe Father Judge paved a special way home for them all.

My true wish - hope - is that they were spared any and all agony other than missing loved ones here on earth.  We are being watched over by a special group of people who had a special intention.   In my mind - they provided a small glimpse of the power of the Powers Above.  Reminding us that miracles do exist.  While tragic on the whole ~ miracles happened in abundance that day.    6 floors of a staircase remained intact with a group of survivors safely ensconced within it as the tower collapsed around them.   People ran back into burning buildings saving strangers.   An entire nation once a nation of individuals taking care of individual needs was once again united  If there is anything that I have gotten from being an American citizen ( citizen of the free world - American or otherwise) is this - whether we are paying attention or not ~ when the bad times roll in - we will Unite - and we will come out together to deal with the hand that is dealt us.

The Flight that Fought Back was recently on the Discovery channel.   Not only have I shared it with coworkers - but also 4 classes of students.  It inspired the following poem and again - yes I do have a special focus on Flight 93 - but that in no way takes away from any of the other 2990+ sacrifices of 9/11.  Give me time and more poems will flow.
