A New Beginning

A Spirit's Awakening

Along with the entire world, I felt especially challenged by the events of 9/11 and to come out of it a better person.  I am a Montana girl, but at that time I was living in Pennsylvania.  Not only that ~ I was living in Latrobe and if you look at a map that is entirely too close to where United 93 ended its flight.

Of course everyone has at one time or another heard of 5 specific men aboard the flight ~ Todd Beamer ("Let's Roll"), Mark Bingham, Tom Burnett,  Jeremy Glick and Louis Nacke.  I hope to bring an awareness to more than just the obvious heroes throughout my writings, but like everyone else, they are the ones who stand out.   Especially when one of these men shared my birthday.  Jeremy had 3 months with his daughter Emerson, he had had a week of having turned 31 as I had just turned 33.    He also had written poetry in High School ~ a poem about a flight in trouble that was unable to survive ~ being one of them.   When you have  points that help you relate to someone who has made such an impression on you and others, it is hard not to stay focused on that particular person.

There is no one who was unaffected by the events of 2001.  By now the effects have reached closer to home as the years have passed and war has raged.  Our losses have increased, yet the result is the same.  Average citizens are doing great things.  They are protecting the Home Front from further danger.

Below is a link to my Guest Book - Visitor's Voice.  If you would like to add your thoughts, or your prayers please take the time and share them.    Just maybe - someone will come along to read our thoughts who was working at "The Pile" or has served time in the Armed Forces protecting our way of life.  And maybe those thoughts that we share will provide a sense of care and healing that has been missing from their life.  Help someone find a new beginning after what feels like a lifetime of war.

Thank you one and all for taking the time to share.
